I'm struggling to find the point of this article. It's just a stream of doom and gloom and blame.

If all/most of what you say is true ....so what? Certain things are in our control and certain things are beyond our control. But to place the 'blame' on governments and leaders is to say that there was nothing we as individuals could have done. Of course there was. And most of us probably didn't.

The only thing worse than wasting more time than necessary mulling over the solution to a problem is wasting time just thinking about the problem and not a solution!
